Saving vs. Leading

Episode #286

When your spouse is going through something, do you feel the urge to “save” her or do you want to lead her?

We tend to try and solve other people’s problems because we want external validation. We’d love to help other people because it makes us feel good about ourselves and makes us feel significant in the world that we live in.

Saving seems to be the most honorable thing, but in reality, it’s the last thing most people want. If you want to help her, allow her to go through the process. That’s leadership.

Make her feel emotionally safe and trust you fully. Once you’re solid within yourself, then you can become like the lighthouse in the storm. The lighthouse stands, guiding her home, no matter how hard the waves are crashing.

Show her the way, how to solve it, without any expectation of a particular outcome. That’s when people start following. Women don’t want to be saved, they want to be led.

In this episode, you will learn how important it is for women to be led, not saved, by a powerful man, as we go deeper into some of the key differences between saving and leading.
